631.x Motor too hot
Description
A monitoring in ACOPOS has triggered an error and switched off the servo amplifier to protect the motor.
Remedy
If the error occurs after a certain operating time, it is possible that the mechanical load for the motor is too large. This can be an indication of an error or needed maintenance (lubricate, bearing, etc.) of the mechanics.
9010, 9011, 9012, 9013, 41011: The monitoring of the hardware temperature sensor has triggered the error.
- The motor has an integrated temperature sensor/switch that is monitored by ACOPOS to protect the motor. If the sensor is immediately triggered when the servo amplifier is switched on, there is a problem with the sensor or the wiring (interruption of line to the sensor). A resistance measurement of the sensor in the 'cool' state must deliver a finite' resistance. If it is a thermal switch, the switch must be closed in the cold state. If the switch is triggered or is defective, the switch is opened.
- Especially in water-cooled motors: if operation is possible over a certain time and the error occurs only then, check whether inadequate cooling (water flow/temperature) is the cause.
- The cause can be a ground fault at T+ and T- connections.
9070, 9071, 41070: A thermal model for the motor is calculated on the ACOPOS to predict the current temperature. Protection of the motor by the hardware temperature sensor is very slow. If the motor is overloaded for a short time, the sensor is too slow. To protect the motor in this case, the thermal model, which can also reliably detect short-term overloads and thus additionally protect the motor, is analyzed.
- If the error occurs after a short duration, then the motor is in a position in which it is overloaded when standing still (e.g. standing still in plunged spring with switched on servo amplifier).
- If the error occurs for a short time, an unstable controller of the servo amplifier can also be the cause. In this case, check whether the correct mechanics is coupled or the correct option is selected in the machine control.
- If the error occurs after longer operating time, then this suggests long-term overload of the motor. This can be if the production rate selected for the produced format is too high.
