Canbody is only partially deflected by DCD or leading/following can body swings after DCD

Summary

Sometimes the canbody is not or only partially deflected by the DCD. This leads to a crash or jam including the leading or following canbody of the deflected canbody swings. It can also lead to crashes or shake off powder. Both of the circumstances can be explained by the magnets in the DCD.

Cause

The length of a sigle electromagnetic magnetic zone in the DCD and DCS is 46mm. If the gap between two canbodys is smaller than 23mm, the leading or following canbody is also attracted by the magnet.

Remedy

Before September 2024, the standard parameters of the software were set so that the length of the magnetic zone was not taken into account. To solve the problem, the following values need to be set:

    ParameterDescriptionDefault value
    untill
    09.2024
    Default value
    from
    09.2024
    $RejectDcdShiftedPulses
    (0 .. 10 Pulses)*

DCD: The magnets will be switched on some pulses later and switched off some pulses earlier.

One Pulse is 2.3mm (see also DMS 4301899 (only Soudronic AG internal))

    0 pulse10 pulses
    $SolenoidPulseWidthReject
    (60 .. 90 %) **
Used for: DCD node; Pulse width of Solenoid (for Coldfire hardware), used for node A032 and A036.62%85%

10 pulses is equal with 23 mm front and end => in total 46mm,
     the SeparatorPulseDistance (4.6mm /2 = 2.3mm);
Magnet switch on and off : Immediate
only possible if hardware >= UC3

** Because of the shorter time, in which the magnets attract the can bodys, the magnetic force should be increased.
