Understanding the functionality and meaning of Spare Part Code in Machine Documentation

Summary

The Sparepart feature has been implemented in the parts catalogue of the machine documentation. The purpose of this article is to explain what the different codes mean and what actions should be undertaken by the customer depending on which spare parts code has been assigned to a part.

Description

In the column "Sparepart" of mySoudronic Machine Documentation different codes are displayed (A0, A1, B0, B1, C0, C1, D)

Spare Part code A

The Spare Part code A classifies a part as Priority 1 spare part

Code A spare parts are subject to short-term wear and tear and show a relatively high probability of failure. Examples of such parts are rollerheads, electro-mechanical parts (valves), sensors, belts, active tooling parts, weld current generator (Pulsar), induction generators, UNICONTOL components.

Spare part code A0

The code 0 designates a non-customer specific part. This means that this part can be found in several machines.

Part is stocked at SOUDRONIC. Probability to be on stockat any time equal or higher than 98%.

SOUDRONIC urgently recommends to stock A0 coded parts even if the probability that these parts can be shipped from stock is very high.

Spare part code A1

The code 1 designates a customer specific part. This means that this part can be found in only is one specific machine.

Probability to be on stock at SOUDRONIC (Switzerland) at any time is 0%.

SOUDRONIC urgently recommends to stock A1 coded parts because the probability to find these parts in SOUDRONIC's stock is virtually zero.

Spare Part code B

The Spare Part code B classifies a part as Priority 2 spare part

Code B spare parts are subject to mid-term wear and tear and show a significant probability of failure. Examples of such parts are spindles, machine guides, couplings, gear boxes, bearings, motors, toothbelts, distributors, etc...

Spare part code B0

The code 0 designates a non-customer specific part. This means that this part can be found in several machines.

Probability to be on stock at SOUDRONIC (Switzerland) at any time aproximately 85%.

SOUDRONIC recommends to stock B0 coded parts because of the reduced probability to find this part in stock at SOUDRONIC.

Spare part code B1

The code 1 designates a customer specific part. This means that this part can be found in only is one specific machine.

Probability to be on stock at SOUDRONIC (Switzerland) at any time is zero percent.

SOUDRONIC recommends to stock B1 coded parts because the probability to find these parts in SOUDRONIC's stock is virtually zero.

Spare Part code C

The Spare Part code C classifies a part as Priority 3 spare part

Code C spare parts are subject to long-term wear and tear and show a low probability of failure. Examples of such parts are cams, guide rails, guide rings, conveyors, spare parts from third party suppliers.

Spare part code C0

The code 0 designates a non-customer specific part. This means that this part can be found in several machines.

Probability to be on stock at SOUDRONIC (Switzerland) at any time is zero percent.

SOUDRONIC recommends to stock C0 parts because of these will not be stocked at SOUDRONIC.

Spare part code C1

The code 1 designates a customer specific part. This means that this part can be found in only is one specific machine.

Probability to be on stock at SOUDRONIC (Switzerland) at any time is 0%.

SSOUDRONIC recommends to stock C0 parts because of these will not be stocked at SOUDRONIC.

Spare Part code D or no code displayed

If no code or the Spare Part code D is displayed, this classifies all parts which typically are not a spare part

Code D spare parts are not subject to failure or wear. Examples of such are machine frames, support plates, assembly screws, covers, control cabinets, brackets, etc...
