The PAM cannot synchronize with communication processor
Issue
Synchro timeout
The PAM cannot synchronize with communication processor.
Check the dualport address (hardware): your synchro timeout (too fast) or the communication processor does not work correctly.
Remedy
Bad connection between CAN bus Interface and PAM-backplane
1. Switch the power off.
2. Check if the board plug between the CAN bus interface and backplane or the PAM and backplane is oxidized.
Pull the two boards out and push them back in several times.
3. Switch the power back on.
Defective PAM or PAM Interface
Checklist
It is difficult to determine if this fault is caused by the communication or the PAM (respectively the CAN interface). This checklist should help to get more clarity.
1. Power off the welder
2. Disconnect power supply for the PC
(Small plug with two wires, yellow and black)
3. Power on welder (Main Switch on)
4. Wait approximately one minute
5. Check the LED and the display on the
a. PAM-P
b. PAM CAN bus interface
c. SAM Drives
6. Connect the power supply for the PC back in (2.)
7. What fault message does the GCC show?
8. What does the seven segment display show on all the nodes?
9. What do the PAM and the SAM show on their display?
10. Report the different displays to Soudronic.
Exchange the PAM-P and the CAN Interface
If all the nodes are showing a L or a 3 (Node 7 might show a P) and the PAM shows the same fault message, exchange the PAM and the CAN Interface.
