There is a hardware disturbance in the UNICONTROL system caused by sparking in the powder system.
Example message:
Exception | Exception |
Can object 1037 | Can Object 1065 |
M:0H E:2 V:2 Task 0 @DC12H | M:0H E:25 V:33 Task 0 @101F0H |
The seven segment display on a UNICONTROL node shows you an “E” (E = exception).
Other exceptions running production with powder:
Bus error | (exception M:0 E:2) |
Address Error | (exception M:0 E:3) |
IllegalInstruction | (exception M:0 E:4) |
Line1111emulator | (exception M:0 E:11) |
FormatError | (exception M:0 E:14) |
Spurious Interrupt | (exception M:0 E:24) |
Register Corruption | (exception M:0 E:25) |
Remedy:
- Check CAN bus wiring. (See related article)
- CAN bus 0 Volt must be grounded. With powder the Can bus 0 Volt must be grounded in cabinet 801 or 810.
- Clean the area around the electrode
- Check if the electrode is defective (broken)
- Check if the cascade is defective
- Check if the earth brushing of can is o.k. (No flash)
- Check the HVS wiring between the cascade and the electrode
- Check “SPS powder ground schematic”. Is the FCS and CPF ground strap connected properly to welder (See below)
- If the other points fail, replace electrode in the powder arm.
